For those of you who don’t do Facebook, here’s my most blessed news of the season. Or maybe ever. My first grandchild was born on Christmas eve, as healthy and beautiful as her namesake, my mom.
Here there are–Clara Louise Sr. (my mom) and Clara Louise Jr. (my granddaughter) at one day old. They are destined to be BFFs. I love a sweet, old-fashioned name. What are some of your favorite family-tradition#babynames?

Congratulations on your beautiful granddaughter. Our granddaughter was born on September 17, 2013. Her name is Josephine, another old-fashioned name.

They are both beautiful ladies. Let your joy truly begin, because grandchildren are truly the icing on the cake. My husband is one of 14 children, all with family names, and most with outrageous nicknames. Celestia Ware known as Boo, Lucy Linda known as Boopie, Warren Dudley known as Oop to name a few.

Beautiful, both of them and their shared name couldn’t be any more special.

Awe, Clara Jr is just adorable, congratulations to all! My middle name is my mother’s maiden name, which I guess was quite the trend in the 50’s…

Aw, so cute, congratulations! Our daughter’s name is Laura which some consider old fashioned, but I prefer to think classic. We’re having a boy in April/May and went with Christopher. He’ll have a pretty traditional name, but Laura’s middle name is after her grandmothers. It’s Karelyn (Karen + Lynn) and pronounced Carolyn. We figured the middle name is rarely used so we could go a little crazy. Plus, it tickled the moms.

Congratulations on your first grandchild! And since you asked, we named our son, born last January, Ellison Gray. A family name on both sides. (Clara is beautiful! Both the name and the baby.)
