Just a note to let you know that I will be writing the end of a very ambitious novel on Saturday, October 16, starting at 3:30pm Pacific Standard Time, in front of a live audience and streaming on the web. For two hours, I’ll write the final pages of The Novel: Live, a Seattle7Writers event to raise money for literacy in our community.

If you tune in, not only will you see me at the desk, you will see the words scrolling across the screen, mistakes and all. You can watch online as 36 Northwest authors take their turns in the hot seat, picking up where the last author left off, and, we hope, by Saturday, bringing the story to a riveting and satisfying close at 6 p.m. PST.

This event takes place live in front of an audience as well at Richard Hugo House, Seattle’s literary center. If you’re in the neighborhood, please drop by! If you’re far far away, please tune in. If you want to hit that “donate” button on our website, please do, and know that your money will be going to a great program here called “Writers in the Schools.”
