Three things I’m grateful for:

  1. friends who put their trust in me
  2. a literary agent who is a fount of clever, amazing, outside-the-box ideas
  3. the lovely colors of nature in my garden today:

Three things I’m grateful for:

My clever and sweet daughter, for everything she does.

Google Reader, which puts all my favorite blogs in one place.

NPR, which gives me something interesting to listen to while working in the garden.

Three things I’m grateful for, thanks to artists who know a picture can express something so much more eloquently than words–(I’m lagging behind “real time” here, due to deadlines.)

In case you missed it, we got our country back.

Finally! We got our country back!

Three things I’m grateful for:

Gee Wally!

Gee Wally!

The New York Times, because along with well-written hard news, it gives me tidbits like this–Wally from “Leave It To Beaver” is going to have a sculpture on exhibit at the Louvre. Who doesn’t like knowing stuff like that?

My friend Lois, because she generally scoops the NYT on stuff like that.

Advance Reading Copies of upcoming books. Known in publishing as ARCs, these are printed out for blurbs and early reviews, and I have been deluged with them! I love them! They make me feel as though I have the inside track on these books. The down side–I have to wait months before telling people to rush out and buy the book. Watch for some finger-licking-good upcoming books from Karna Bodman, Dan Kallas, Karen Young, Hank Phillippe Ryan, Alison Kent, Christine Wenger…I have had an embarrassment of riches lately…

What are you grateful for right now?

Three things I’m grateful for:

  1. WordPerfect. I know it’s not the industry standard anymore but it’s my standard. I’ve used it ever since v. 4.2, and it makes me a better writer.
  2. A nice visit with a newish friend, and a long, laughter-filled phone call with an oldish one.
  3. Sunshine in November. Here is how it looks reflecting off the water, pouring through the window and shimmering on my wall. The photo doesn’t show the movement, but it’s intriguing.:

(I am also grateful for my ability to look right past the unmade bed and dusty mirror.)

Three things I’m grateful for:

My writers’ group.

Teenagers! They are so funny and exuberant.

The magic of fiction. A novel released into the wild takes on a life of its own. We all got to see this when Suzanne’s YA novel, Saving Juliet, was adapted into a play and performed by Bainbridge Performing Arts. Here’s Suz at Intermission, surrounded by adoring fans:
