I'm a light packer myself. It's one of the hardest transitions of having a baby. They need so much stuff (though I keep trying to tell everyone she doesn't). Worst case, where are we going that I can't buy new stuff? Why must I pack everything we own? The boy is an over-packer which is bad. I was always raised not to pack more than I can carry. Because I have small, wimpy arms, I can't carry much. What I can carry must be at least 50% books and 25% shoes so that doesn't leave much for anything else. :) As long as I have things I can't buy anywhere else (good pair of jeans, bathing suit, bras), I don't sweat the small stuff.

Safe travels! Unfortunately, I live near none of those places, but I wish I did!
